Collier County HIVON

H2S Control provided an immediate odor control solution for Collier County, which operates a 20 million gallon per day (MGD) wastewater treatment facility that was receiving numerous odor complaints from a neighboring recreation complex and businesses. Despite already having multiple chemical scrubbers from various manufacturers throughout the plant, odors were still escaping into the community. The utility has plans to expand the facility to 30-MGD and upgrade the odor control system in the coming years. The facility needed an immediate solution to remedy these odor issues without investing more money into chemical scrubber technology that would need replacement during the upcoming expansion. H2S Control provided a vapor phase odor neutralization solution with the HIVON technology. The HIVON vaporizes a safe blend of all-natural plant extracts that are engineered to neutralize a wide range of malodors while providing a pleasant fragrance for additional odor masking. Five of these HIVON units were strategically located around the perimeter of the plant to neutralize the odors escaping the facility. This solution was a very cost-effective option that has provided exceptional results. Since the HIVON implementation, no additional complaints have been received.
